Vitamins and Our Skin

Vitamin A: fights against wrinkles. It is essential for the formation of healthy skin cells. Lack of vitamin C in the organism can lead to thick, irritated, and dry skin, which can cause infection. Taking vitamin A is helpful for treatment of many skin disorders such as acne, eczema, rashes and infections.

Vitamin B: works as a skin conditioner. Vitamin B is important for nerves and skin. It helps in cases of suffering from dull skin.

Vitamin C: the skin’s defense system. One of the vitamin’s C function is a manufacture of collagen. Collagen fibers act to hold the skin tight and firm as we age. Vitamin C is also a good antioxidant, which means it can neutralize the free radicals that appear under the influence of sunlight or cigarette smoke.

Vitamin E: provides extra protection. As vitamin C, it protects from sun damage. Vitamin C is an oil substance, so it helps to soften the complexion. Taken as supplement, vitamin E is absorbed into the cell membranes where it acts as an antioxidant, protecting the cells from damage.
