How to Properly Wash Your Face

Face washing is one of the most important actions to care for your skin. Knowing how to properly wash your face is a way to achieve healthy and beautiful skin. Here are the steps you have to follow:

Remove your face makeup. Use cotton pad and moisturizing cream to avoid damaging your skin.

Use normal room-temperature water. Don’t use too hot or too cold water – it can dry out your skin.

Avoid using harsh soaps and cleansers. Strong soaps can dry out your skin and strip off natural lipids. Choose mild soaps and soap-free, non-comedogenic cleansers.

Massage your face by gently rotating your middle ring and pinky fingers. Remember that hard rubbing can harm your skin.

Rinse carefully your face to remove it from residues of soap or cleanser. Residues left on your skin can clog your pores. This can lead to acne.

Pad dry your skin with soft, non-abrasive towel. Dont rub your skin.

Use an alcohol-free toner on your face. It will make your skin fresh and smooth. Astringents and toners that contain glycolic or alpha-hydroxic acids are the best for this purpose. These acids reduce the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs. Remember to look also products that are not photosensitive.

Finish the process of washing with moisturizing your skin to reestablish the natural oils that have been removed from your skin. Choose moisturizers with the least amount of chemicals. Use a light moisturizer after cleansing. For an intensive moisture treatment use pure vitamin E or aloe vera oil. They can be available either in liquid form or in capsules.
