Caring for Your Skin in Summer

Healthy skin has the acid mantle layer which is the combination of sebum and perspiration intended to protect the skin from the environmental damage.

In the summertime, loss of water is reinforced through excessive perspiration. Accordingly, sebum production increases and clogs the skin pores. Therefore, the skin needs a careful attention.  These are some advices how to care for skin in the summertime:

  • Cleanse your skin with a natural or vegetable soap.
  • Exfoliation of skin should be made not more than once or twice per week.
  • Moisturize your skin with a light, natural moisturizer. Don’t’ use creams and lotions that contain petroleum based ingredients flogging the pores.
  • Hydrate your skin with an alcohol free, natural toner.
  • Moisturize lips with a lip balm, lip gloss, or lipstick that contain sun protection ingredients such as titanium dioxide.
  • Massage a face oil or moisturizer into the skin before going to sleep. This increases circulation to the skin, which stimulates the rejuvenation process.
  • Protect yourself from sun beams. Remember, eighty percent of wrinkles arise from photo aging.
  • Increase your daily eating of fresh vegetables and vitamins, as well as antioxidants and water to your food intake.  Remember, a right diet is one of ways for having a good looking skin.
